During th hot spell many of the coastal Natives have taken up residence on the beaches near the mouths of streams (reports the "Taranaki News”). Here they thoroughly enjoy the warm weather and live well on the shell fish, schnqpper, kahawai, and other fish. Tn addition there are plentv of eels available in the streams. This food, with plentv of potatoes, is cook ed in the old-fashioned Maori oyeps, built in the sand with stones. Thc-v quickly build suitable shelters with , driftwood, roofed over with rushes, and I seem thoroughly happy and contented ,
