ANNUAL BREAK-UP CONCERT A SUCCESSFUL YEAR The annual breaking-up concert, durin" wliicli the prizes and certificates were presented to the successful scholars, was held last night in the Town HaH Concert Chamber, which was packed to the doors with children, parents, and friends. The proceedings were conducted by Mr. A. Sando on behalf of Mr. A. E. HasweU, chairman of the school committee who, with Mr. Bird, chief inspector of schools, and Inspector Boden, was among those present. All the concert items were rendered by children ot the school and were greatly appreciated. A bouquet was presented to Miss Roberts, ~, mtant mistress. It was stated also, during the evening, that everybody in Standard VI. had passed and that 90 per cent, had obtained proficiency certificates, that the school eleven had won the senior grade cricket for-schools, that two boys were selected from it for the schools’ representative team, and that there were five representative hockey plovers in the sc.hool. . „ Mr. Sando said that Eric Rollings of the school, was the best bat, the best hockey back, and (he best Rugby forward* in Wellington school circles. Thanks were returned by Mr. Sando to all who had assisted through the year, and particularly to Mr. A. C. Blake and stuff for their good work.
