* DOUBLE MURDER AND SUICIDE. Paris, December 8. William 11. Payne, aged 60, reputedly an American millionaire, occupying with his paralysed wife a luxurious flat in the Champs Elysees, was checking accounts with his wife and the housekeeper, Adrienne Henry, when a dispute arose. Payne rushed to a drawer, secured a revolver, and slightly wounded Henry, who ran screaming into the kitchen. Payne followed and fired four shots, killing her. He returned to the sitting-room, shot his wife dead, locked himself in a bedroom, and committed suicide with the revolver. The Pavnes recently made a world tour. The husband 'returned suffering from melancholia.
