JOY NIGHT
SELECTING “MR. NEW ZEALAND.” AVellington dance-lovers apparently never get tired of the joy nights organised bv the Commercial Travellers. No. 6 joy night, which was repeated last night ■« the Town Hall, was, as usual, a great sucess. The hall was crowded. " “Miss Wel’.ngton” (Aliss McCubbin) and "Aliss New Zealand’s” maid of honour (Miss Wilson) judged an amusing competition, that of selecting “Air. Now Zealand,” the ugliest man in the Dominion. Air. “Paddy Flanigan” was elected, amid cheers from the onlookers. He was presented with a gold medal and a smoker’s cabinet. "Second prize went to Mr. George Woolley, as “Johnnie Walker”; his prize was 500 cigarettes. Airs. Little presented Miss McCubbin ami Aliss Wilson with beautiful bouquets. The dancing continued till a late hour, and the various charities which the Commercial Travellers work for should benefit greatly.
