Climie. organiser of the Canterbury Progress League, was received by the executive of the league last night, The executive appointed a sub-committee to investigate tho report, and authorised ft to confer, if it thought such a course necessary, with tlie port and city committee, which is iwsponsible for the scheme. At a later stage, the meeting adopted the following recommendations front tho special committee which was appointed to report on the year’s york: (1) That I tho league supports (he policy of electrifying tho Lyttelton-Christchurch railway. and (2) that tho league should do all in its power to expedite the work.
