COMMUNITY CLUB’S QUEEN
"GOOD LUCK BALL NO. 2.” "Good Luck Ball No. 2.” which will be held at the Town Hall on Saturday, December 18. in aid of the Community Club’s nominee, "Queen Victoria (Miss Muriel Frazer) in the grand queen carnival preceding the forthcoming searchlight tattoo, promises to be an even greater success than its predecessor, held last year. At a meeting of the clubs Queen Candidate Committee, held on Wednesday, which was largely attended, it was reported that an encouraging demand for tickets had already act in, and arrangements were completed for making the gathering one of the most enjoyable yet heid in Wellington. A first-class orchestra has been engaged, the decorations will comprise "Good Luck emblems, and the ball will be under the direction of Mr. J. A. Smyth. A novel feature will be introduced by presenting >( each patron with a "mystery envelope, containing a number. These are to be kept sealed until 10 o'clock, when a ballot will take place from corresponding numbers for the allocation of six special prizes, three of which will be for ladies and three for gentlemen.
