DUPLICATION OF CABLE TO BE CELEBRATED It is not every year that a new cable connecting Canada with New Zealand and Australia is laid down, and the fact that the duplication ot the Pacific Board’s cable across the Pacific Ocean will mean a considerable speeding up in the transmission of messages to aud from Canada, aud the Old Country, adds to the importance of the great work which has just been completed. To mark the event, invitations are being issued fiv the manager of the board in New Zealand (Mr. A. T. Markman) to a luncheon to be held at Gamble and Creed’s oti Thursday next at 1 pm.
