MATAROA. FROM HOME. o The latest addition to Hie Shaw. Savill and Albion Company's fleet, the Mataroa is due at Wellington about Sunday, from London and Southampton landing the Wellington and South Island passengers the liner will proceed to Auckland to disembark the remainder, and also to commence unloading cargo.

Later she will return to Wellington to complete discharge. Tho Mataroa was formerly the Aberdeen White Star Line steamer Diogenes. Since she was taken over by her present owners she has been converted into an oil burner. Like her sister ship, the Tamaroa, she is specially adapted for migration purposes. There is accommodation for 420 third-class passengers at the rear of the main deck, and almost the whole length of tho lower deck. The accommodation is in six. four, and cabins, and temporary .accommodation for about 150 passengers is placed inaa 2 hold. Sieepn, chief officer of the Marama, hao Veen invalided ashore at Auckland, and his place will be taken by Mr. J. D. Lundie, late chief officer of the Ngakuta. PORT MELBOURNE DUE TO-DAY. This afternoon the 0. and D. Line steamer Port Melbourne is due in the stream at Wellington from London direct, and will berth at the Pipitea Wharf to disembark her passengers and commence discharge. THE HUNTINGDON’S ITINERARY. The New Zealand Shipping Co. report that a considerable alteration has been made in the proposed loading itinerary of the Huntingdon. The vessel will commence loading at Port Chalmers, and will leave there on December 16 for Lyttelton and Wellington. She is due here on December 21, and will subsequently proceed to Picton, Auckland, Napier, and Gisborne. The Huntingdon will now sail finally from Gisborne on Jannary 15 for London, Avonmouth, Glasgow, and Liverpool. A WARNING TO MARINERS. The following message has been received by the Telegraph Department from the commander of the cable steamer J r * s » ‘‘Cable buoy to which red flag with black centre and one white light is attached is moored 245 deg. true, seven miles from Karori Rock lighthouse. MISCELLANEOUS. The Holmdale, from southern ports, is due at Wellington to-morrow, and will go on to Wanganui. She is due back on Sunday, and will leave on Monday for south. „ The John is due at Wellington on Wednesday from Bluff, via ports, and will go on to Wanganui. The Breeze, due at Wellington to-mor-row from south, will go on to Wanganui, and is on Sunday, sailing on Monday for southern ports. The Calm, from Bluff, via ports, is due at Wellingtou on Sunday _ and will leave on Monday for Wanganui. The Gale, duo at tvellington on Saturday from south, will ieaie on Monday for Picton aud Wanganui. The Ngakuta will load cement at Portland to-morrow for New Plymouth, Weilirfston. and Lyttelton. The Totara is due at Wellington toffsy from New Plymouth, rnd will go on to Timaru and Lyttelton, where she will load for Wellington and New Plymouth. (The Waipahi will leave Auckland today for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff. She is due here on Saturday. The Kartigi will leave Wellington today tor Westport and Greymouth, to load for Auckland. The Kurow will leave Dunedin to-day, via Timaru and Lytetlton, for Wellington and Auckland, and ia due here on Tuesday. The Kaitangata will leave Napier tomorrow for Wellington. The Kamo will load at Dunedin early next week for Wellington. Napier, and Gisborne; via ports. The Corinna was expected to leave Dunedin yesterday for Wellington, Nelson and New Plymouth, via ports. The Kahika is due at Wellington on Friday from Dunedin and ports, and will go on to Napier and Gisborne. The Arawa is to sail from Wellington at 5 p.m. to-day for Lyttelton and Dunedin to put out the remainder of her Liverpool cargo. The Tainui left Napier last night for Auckland to complete loading for London. Tho Mahana will sail from Auckland today for Wellington, cn route from London. She is duo here on Saturday morning. • The A. and A. Line steamer Tregenna arrived at Dunedin yesterday morning from Lyttelton to unload the remainder of her New York cargo. The vessel next proceeds to Port Pirie. Tho Port Sydney left Lyttelton last evening for Port Chalmers and Bluff te complete discharge of her New York cargo. The Canadian Scottish arrived at Auckland yesterday afternoon from Napier. She Is to sail this evening for New York, Boston, and Halifax. The Colao left Lyttelton at 2.45 p.m. yesterday for Dunedin to continue discharge. She will sail from Dunedin on Saturday for Sydney.
