ATHLETICS
The posters for the Boxing Day athletic and cycling meeting at Petone are now on view, and the programme submitted is a comprehensive and attractive one. The open events include running hurdling, walking, jumping, putting the shot and javelin throwing, while the ladies and boys are also well catered for. Cycling forms a big attraction in Petone. and some trood contests are sure to be seen. The latter include a two-mile and three-mile open nnd an A and a B one-mile handicap. Entries close on December 18 with k Mr. A. C. Kitto. Invitations cave been sent to S. Lay. R. Rose, Lanksey. of Dannevirke. and Newtown and Gibbons, of Wanganui, to he present, but replies are not yet to hand.
