MARCEL THURU ARRIVES. Bv the s.s. Maunganui yesterday there arrived from Sydney Marcel Thum, the well-known French light-weight, one of the team of French boxers which M. Leon See has at present in Australia. Thuru who is a well-set-up figure and wlio scales 11st. Gib., is the bearer of a mosf complimentary letter from Stadiums Ltd., which testifies. to the Frenchman’s ability both in and out of the ring. He is also the proud possessor of a gold medal awarded him by Stadiums Ltd. for producing one of the best contests of the year in Sydney in his contest with Ted. Monson. Thuru will meet Eddie Parker at Auckland on December 28. IVitli the French boxer camo Mr. E. W. Scott, a one-time Wellington journalist, who has been for the past few months in Europe, and who came out to Australia as M, Leon See’s secretary. Mr. Scott is acting as Thuru’s manager in New Zealand, on M. Leon See’s behalf.
