COMPENSATION AWARD

DUNEDIN PROPERTY TAKEN FOR ROAD WIDENING. Dominion Special. Dunedin, December 7. The decision of the Compensation Court was given this morning in the case in which Albert Edward Usherwood claimed £4581 as compensation from the Otago Harbour Board in respect to the taking by the latter of the frontage of his property for tho widening of Lower Rattray Street. Mr. Justice Sim (president) intimated that tiie decision of the Court had not been unanimous, claimant’s assessor being unable to agree.. The award of the Court was that respondent pay to claimant the sum of £3025 in respect of his claim, together with the sum of £175 for costs.
