MISHAP ON SNOWSLOPE
DR. HILGENDORF INJURED. Dominion Special. Christchurch, December 6. Dr. F. W. Hilgendorf, acting director of Lincoln College, with a party of about a dozen students, was botanising on Mount Rolleston yesterday, and while the party was climbing down a snow gully Dr. Hilgendorf, who was well in the lead, got on to some loose snow, which collapsed with his weight and carried him hundreds of feet below. He sustained a sprained ankle and knee. The party experienced great difficulty in getting him back up the mountain and to Arthur’s Pass.
