CONGRATULATIONS TO LICENSEES At the quarterly meeting of the Wellington Licensing Committee yesterday it was stated in the police report that the houses had all been found on inspection to be in very satisfactory order. The chairman (Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M.), congratulated the licensees on the good report. . There were associated with Mr. Riddell, Messrs. J. W. Ellison, F. Meadowcroft, I. W. Clark and M. A. Carr. / The following transfers were approved : Shamrock Hotel, from A. 11. Lees to Thomas Moran; Clarendon Hotel, from A. D. Rains to F. C. Pracy; Cricketers Arms Hotel, from W. H. Richards to Joseph Quinn; Duke of Edinburgh Hotel, from R. A. Evenson to S. JWhiteford; Barrett’s Hotel, from A. JMunro to R. Fairweather. Permission was granted the' licensees of both the Grand and the Cricketers Arms Hotels to carry out minor structural alterations to their premises. The executors of the will of the late T. W. Young were given permission to carry on business as wholesalers.
