“SUFFICIENT TO PROTECT LIFE” London, December 3. “We possess a very able Com-mander-in-Chief in China,” declared the hirst Lord of the Admiralty, Mr. W. C. Bridgeman, in a speech at Bromley. "He cabled that he had sufficient strength available to protect life, which was all that was required of him. That is true, in my opinion, but we replied: ‘lf you consider vour forces insufficient we will do otir best to send you reinforcements.’ ”
