Australia’s Trade Representative in the United States, who, in a speech at New York, reported on Saturday, indicated that “the same diplomatic relations that rule between the United States and other countries will probably, in the not-far-distant future exist between _ Australia and the United States.” This has been interpreted as meaning, that Australia intends to appoint a Minister plenipotentiary in the United States. —S.
