AMUSEMENTS. GRAND OPERA HOUSE WELLINGTON. Direction -. J. C. WILLIAMSON (N.Z.), LTD. Touring Manager, John Farrell. FAREWELL To the GILBERT AND SULLIVAN OPERAS IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT. J. C. WILLIAMSON, LTD. Have pleasure in announcing that arrangements were definitely completed recently so that the brilliant and incomparable GILBERT AND SULLIVAN COMIC OPERA CO. Might extend its stay in New Zealand, and give return farewell seasons in Christchurcn, Auckland. Wellington and many of the provincial centres. This meant a complete re-organisation of the whole of the Australian tour which has been effected. The management is fully alive to the fact that, owing to the sensational demand for seats during the original seasons, a very large number of playgoers were unable to enjoy any of the operas. The farewell seasons in Christchurch and Auckland proved even more successful than the original ones, hundreds of people being nightly unable to obtain admission. The approaching Wellington season must necessarily be limited to six nights, but, during that period, no less than six of the best and most popular of the works of the beloved collaborators will bo presented.
