MACHINERY ARRIVING Dominion Special. Auckland, December 2. A further .large shipment of machinery for hydro-electric works at Arapuni will be landed at Auckland next week from the steamer Mahalla from Loudon. The machinery consists of the first of the three huge tut bines, each capable of generating 25,000 horsepower and second of three generators each of a capacity of. 17,500 k.v a. The turbine is packed in fifty-one cases, six rotor rings being (he heaviest parts. Each weighs over six tons.. The generator is packed in seyenty-eight cases, the main part being divided into four sections, eacly of which weighs 23 tons. A special train, including specially prepared wagons, will be necessary to convey the machinery from Auckland to the works.
