MOVE BY RESERVES COMMITTEE SUGGESTED LOAN OF £51,000 NOTICE OB' MOTION BY CR. W. J. THOMPSON Councillor W. J. Thompson, chairman of the Reserves Committee of file Wellington City Council, has giveji notice that he will move at the meeting of the council on December 1C that steps be taken to submit to a poll of the ratepayers a proposal to raise a sum of £51,000 for improvements to the city playing fields.

The full text of Councillor Thompson’s motion is as follows—- “ That all necessary steps be taken to submit to a poll of the ratepayers the proposal to raise a sum of £51,000 for the following works:— “Nairnvillc Park, formation and dressing-slied, £6OOO. , “Wakefield Park and golf links, combined golf pavilion and dressing-shed, £4300. . „ , • “Prince of Wales Park, dressingshed, £l2OO. . , , “Nairn Street Reserve, dressing-shed, £.1200* “Anderson Park extension, £4400. “Seaside Park, island Bay, £lOOO. “Purchase of land, Miramar, £3OOO. “Tepid swimming-baths, £12,000. “Basin Reserve improvements, £4700. “Keith Izard Park, dressing-shed and conveniences, £l2OO. • . “Lyall Bay Reserve, dressing-shed and conveniences, £2500. “Play area, Vogeltown, £5OO. “Western Park, formation and dress-ing-shed, £5OOO. “Asphalt basketball court, £lOOO. “Total, £51,000.”
