MANAWATU-OROUA BOARD MEETS.

Palmerston North, December 2. The monthly meeting of the Mana-watu-Oroua River Board was held today, Mr.'W. S. Carter occupying the chair A ttter was received from the Buckley Drainage Board stating that advice Bad been received from the Public Works Department to the effect that the amount available for flood damage caused by the Manawatu River was £4OO, on a £1 for £1 basis. It was asked that the board’s engineer be instructed to design and supervise the necessary work. It was reported bv the clerk that he had written the Buckley Drainage Board, pointing out that it would be necessary to call tenders for the work He had forwarded a copy of specifications drawn up by the engineer tn .respect to the Oroua River, a similar work, which might be of use.
