WAIMAKARIRI RAFT TRAGEDY

ANOTHER VICTIM’S BODY FOUND. Dominion Special. Christchurch, December 2. The body of the man found on the bank of the Waimakariri River at Woodstock, Oxford, has been definitely identified as that of John S. Shannon, a victim of the raft tragedy which occurred in the Waimakariri Gorge on August 22. At the inquest to-day a verdict was returned that Shannon met his death by drowning as a result of an accident while endeavouring to navigate the Waimakariri River on a raft.
