DISTRIBUTION OF TROUT FRY. , Since the commencement of operations the Wellington Acclimatisation Society has distributed a large number of trout fry in the streams in its district, and the total released will shortly reach 1,125,000 brown trout fry and 75,000 rainbow trout fry. Distributions so far are: Brown trout fry: Wairarapa North 80,000, Wairarapa South 80,000, Palmerston North 80,000, Eketahuna 75,000, Pahiatua 84,000, Levin 50,000, Martou 45,000, Hunterville 45,000, Taihape 50,000, Mangaweka 30,000, Hutt and tributaries 100,000, Wainui. 75,000, Akatarawa 25,000, I’orirua 18,000, Marton River 12,000, Mungaroa 10,000, Horokiwi 10,000, Shannon 21,000, Mangahao 11,000, Waikanae 20,000, Matarua 10,000, Ngatiawa, 10,000, Maungauui 10,000, Maungatukutu 10,000, Mangaoke 10,000, Little Wainui 15,000, Te Komaru 20,000, Ohariu 10,000, and Masterton ponds 10,000; remaining distributions to follow are: Otaki 25,000, Pongaroa 10,000, Tattherenikan (per Tramping Club) 2000, and South Karori 10,000 Ratnbov Fry: Pahiatua 13,000, Taihape 13,000, Mangaweka 10,000, Marton 8000, Hunterville 8000, Masterton ponds 5000; remaining distributions: Otaki 8000 and Mangalmo (lower dam) 5000. The distribution of yearlings was as follows:—Brown: Waipoua 700, Otaki 500, Paliiatua 700, Mangatarere 500, Waioln’ne 500, Palmerston North 500, Eketahuna 400, Hutt River 500. Levin 500. and Porirua 300: total, 5600. Rainbow: Otaki 1000, Mangahao Dams 1200, Pahiatua 500. Mangaweka, Kawbntau, and Ponrangaki 400, Marton 350, Dav’s Bay (Williams Park) 50; total, 4000. ’
