The Labour members were strong in their opposition to the proposal to lease this part of the Town Belt, and Councillor R McKeen asked that the clause be referred back on the. score of principle. It was pointed out by Councillor M. F Lttckie that they bad the power to lease portions of the Town Belt. They were perfectly within their legal rights. The Mayor' said he had no doubt that they would be able to get the necessarv legislation. The clause was adopted.
