CALEDONIAN CARNIVAL
There was another good attendance at the Caledonian carnival at Kilbirnie last evening, the side-shows especially being well patronised. It is announced from now on there will be an excellent programme daily at the carnival, among the attractions being variant lighting effects, tug-of-war,contests, and boxing tournaments. In connection with the latter, Jamito, Purdy, and McCarthy will b e in attendance and will give an exhibition bout. The Evans Bay Yacht Club regatta will be held, also a life-saving display, and _ probably some surf competitions. Chinese citizens will give a special fireworks display, and children’s. plahi and fancy paper and poster dances will be held on December I and 11. Twelve prizes will be awarded.
