Telephone advice from the “Herald’s” correspondent at Opotiki shortly before midnight shows that Jerry Williams was aged about 45. It is stated that he left Opotiki in a taxi with John Sullivan (aged 50) at ’ 3 o’clock this afternoon, and travelled two miles past Torere Williams’s body was found m some scrub two chains past the spot where the taxi stopped. His head was badlv battered. Sullivan was arrested on the charge of murder. . -.
