Mr. E. Page, S.M., presided in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday. Charles Goodwell, a barber, aged 45, who admitted breaking and entering into tile premises of Angus Duncan, tobacconist, Lambton Quay, by night, and stealing various goods to the total value of £6 Ils., wifk committed to the Supreme Court for sentence ■ A further remand until December i was granted in the case of Hong Choc, a Chinese labourer, aged TS, who was charged with secreting himself on the R.M.S. Tahiti on the voyage r roni Papeete to Wellington, without first having gamed the consent of the ship’s master. William Arthur Murphy, a driver, aged 35. who was charged with committing theft, bv failing to account for tlio sum of £2 15s. sd„ collected from Annie Edwards. at Auckland, on the understanding ho was to pay the money to Walter Buchanan .and Company, was remanded to appear at Auckland cn Friday next.
