SCOTTISH CONCERT
The concert held in the Kent lerrace Presbyterian Church Had on luesday evening in aid of Christmas cheer lor the Presbyterian orphanages was a great success. The programme, which was arranged by the Wellington Scots Socdal Club, was an excellent one, consisting entirely of Scottish items.land was thoroughly enjoyed by the large audience. Tne song m character by Master McMillan, “Please Give Me a Penny, Sir,” received a great reception and brought in a shower of coins which realised £2 16s. The artists contributing were Piper Small, who played an opening selection cf marches, strathspey and reel, songs by Mesdaines Savoie and Potts, Miss Jean Carbin, Master C. Stewa.it, and Mosers. Chalmers. Marshall and Bannister, and recitations by Misses P. and G. Kerr, while Mrs. McMillan was a most efficient accompanist. At the '’onclusion of the programme Mr. T. P. Mills thanked the Scots’ Social Club for the very fine entertainment given, and Mr. G. T. Savage replied on behalf of the club.
