MISS WILLS AND MDLLE. LENGLEN MATCH APPARENTLY ABANDONED B? Telegraph.—Poes' 3 association Copyright. New York, November 30. The proposed tennis match between |fw, Helen Wills and Mademoiselle Suzanne Lenglen has apparently been .abandoned because Mademoiselle Lenglen’s manager, Mr. Pyle, declared that he and Mademoiselle Lenglen must be given a portion of the receipts. Miss Wills had stated that she was willing to play. The United States Lawn Tennis Association was willing to permit her to do so provided that neither contestant profited.
OTAKI v. VICTORIA COLLEGE. The annual tennis match between Otaki and ' Victoria University College * was staged at Otaki, on Tuesday, under excellent weather conditions and resulted in a win’for Victoria College by 20 matches to 10.
