ALLEGED FORGERY

Dominion Special. Dunedin, December 1. / Before Mr. J. R. Bartholomew, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court this morning, Thomas O’Connor was charged with, on November 20, forging a cheque purporting to be signed by C. F. Bryant, and causing it to be acted upon as genuine. The cheque was for £6 35., and the man who acted upon it as genuine was E. D. Friedlander. Chief-Detective Lewis said there was the question of another cheque, so he would ask for a remand. The Magistrate remanded accused till Friday week. Bail of £lOO was allowed, with two sureties of £5O, or one of £lOO.
