PETONE COURT
The fortnightly sitting of the petons Magistrate’s Court was hold yesterdr r before Messrs. A. Coles and G. T. L0.,don. J.P.’s. For riding cycles without lights. Cha*. Watson and B. E. Fleet were each fined 10s.< with 7s. costs. For leaving a'car without lights T. M. Pearson was fined 55., with 7s- cost*. For crossing the railway line at the Petone Station the following were each fined 10s., with 7s. costs:—F. J. Ayres, E. C. Ballinger, J. O. Billings, L. CBinning. H. W. Corbett. C. Cording, R. M. Curtie*, IT. E. Hewett. M. S. Jensen, F. A. O’Rourke. G. Owen, F. Pulse. M. R. Reid, E. S. Uly.Vt. M. Wall. IL Wclbourne, W. IT. .Anderson. J. E. Brown, R. E. Butt, M. Hale, A. Jenkins, L. Martin. W. Rodgers, H. Rollinson. J. Scott, G. F. Sealy, and S. Walker. Exceeding the speed limit in various parts of the Petone borough cost the following £2 each:—L. White, B. Blake, R. E. Brace. D. G. Hill, AV. McDonald, W. M. Paterson, and A. A. Sticlibury; and the following 4'l: L. Gardner. G. Bristed, and J. Scoringe. osts in each ca e amounted to 7s. _ W. G. Webster was fined- 41 with .s, costs for driving a mofor-lorry across a footpath without having protected same. Tn dealing with the cases of those charged with crossing flic railway line at Petone, it wa* found that one man who was charged had not been at the station at the time. Defendant produced letters from his employers stating that he had commcn'cd work nt their Wel--lin"toti offices on that morning, and had not" left there for Petone till later in the day. The railway employee who took the name could not state thnt accused was the man who gave the name. The case was dismissed.
