MONSIGNOR BURKE, OF INVERCARGILL By telegraph. —press association. ■lnvercargill, November 28. ’ The death occurred suddenly, at 6 o’clock to-night of Monsignor Burke. He climbed a hill at Bluff during the’ afternoon, and on the return to Invercargill complained of feeling ill and died before a doctor arrived. Monsignor Burke, who was 70 years old, was one of the best known of the Roman Catholic clergy in New Zealand and recently returned from a trip to Italy, where the Pope conferred on him the title of monsignor.
