“NO OVERTIME” STRIKE
LAYING UP OF VESSELS COMMENCED

Owing to the “no overtime” strike, the laying up of vessels lias commenced and manv seamen will be affected unless a settlement is soon reached. It is understood'that pressure is being brought to bear on the waterside workers by other unions with the object of bringing about normal working conditions. The watersiders are being urged to revert to constitutional measures, and to accept the offer of Judge Beebv that their federation can have their case heard bv the Arbitration Court if they start work forthwith. CARGO SHUT OUT FROM . ULIMAROA Sydney, November 27. Several tons of cargo for Auckland, unable to be loaded by the Ulimaroa bv 5 o'clock, had to be left behind. The seamen on a coastal vessel refused to supply steam in a case where the owners attempted to use volunteer labour after the watersiders had knocked off.
