PLUMBERS AND GASFITTERS
•AWARD FILED BY COURT
The Wellington. Canterbury, and Otago and Southland plumbers and gasiltters* award was filed by the Arbitration Court on Friday. It provides that the minimum wage for a plumber or gasfitter shall be 2s. 3d. per hour. On all outside jobs the worker. responsible for carrying out the work and .who gives instructions to the other workers shall be paid not less than Is. per day in addition to the mentioned wages. This provision shall not operate unless the job lasts far two days, and not less than three workers are employed thereon. The award will come into force on December 6, and continue in force until December 6, 1928. The Court- has settled the clauses relating to wages and term of award. In other respects the award follows the recommendations of the Conciliation Council, which the parties agreed to accept.
