PROHIBITION IN UNITED STATES
COST OF ENFORCEMENT Washington, November 25. The Treasury Department has declared that Prohibition enforcement during the fiscal year beginning July I 1927, will cost over 33 million dollars. The Assistant Secretary (Mr. Andrews) asked the House of Representatives Appropriations Committee for an appropriation of 13 million dollars for the Federal unit. The Coastguard wants 20 million dollars.
