Roy Arthur Simpson, aged 37, pleaded guilty in the Magistrate’s Court, to-day to a charge .of stealing two watches valued at £2 9s. 6d. He was further charged with failing to comply with the terms of “his release on probation. .Chief Detective Gibson said that the accused was staying at a boardinghouse during the week, nnd on two different mornings he had stolen a watch from the landlord’s room. Ono he sold at a pawnshop, and the other was found in his possession. He had fourteen previous convictions. "I don’t think anything can be done for him,” said the chief detective. The Magistrate (Mr. I,awry) said that accused had served terms for theft, and he would be sentenced to another one of three months’ imprisonment.
