« Pahiatua, November 26. An inter-club match was played between tiro Palliatua aud Eketahuna Bowling Clubs on Wednesday, and resulted in a win for the local players bv 13 points. The following are the results: —Pahiatua : Groves, Chambers, Chatwin, Paterson (s.), 25. Eketahuna: Grant, Motty, Hornblow, McKenzie, 15. Pahiatua: White, Siddells, Me- - F. Britland (s.), 22. Eketahuna: Smith, Green, Minogue, Frederickson (s.), 19. Pahiatua: Boagey, Barrell, Jennings, Ranson (s.), 21. Eketahuna: Murray-Aynsley, Hooper, Greathead, Carruthers (s.j, 21. The match for the Ruahine pennants, between the Dannevirke, Eketahuna, Woodville, and Pahiatua Clubs, is to be played at Woodville on Wednesday next.. The rose, carnation, and sweet pea show, to be held next month, under the auspices of the Anglican Church, is receiving substantial support, and a large number of special prizes have been presented. Mr. \V. W. March lias donated an antique copper bowl for the best collection of roses, and Mr. R. H. Taylor has given a cigarette card album for the best collection of cigarette cards.

Mr. J. E. Murphy has returned from an enjoyable trip to the Old Country. The euchre tournaments conducted by; the ladies of St. Peter’s Anglican Church were brought to a conclusion for the season last evening. There was a very large gathering, and all the tables were occupied. Mr. F. W. Groves won the gentleman’s prize, while the lady’s trophy went to Miss N. Irving. The consolation awards were carried off by Mrs. J. A. Walsh and Mr. H. Terry. The beans throwing competitions were won by Mrs. I. M. Graham and Master D. Groves. An enjoyable dance followed, the music being supplied by Mrs. Graham, Miss Thompson, and Mr. J. W. Thompson.
