GILBERT AND SULLIVAN COMPANY

The triumphs achieved everywhere by the J. C Williamson, Ltd., Gilbert and Sullivan comic opera company, are without a parallel in the theatrical history of New Zealand, and it is therefore oot surprising to learn that return seasons have been arranged in many of the leading towns and cities of New Zealand. There were numerous requests in many of the provincial centres for “The Yeomen of the Guard,” and this opera will now be staged at Najier on Thursday. December 9. at Hastings on Friday. December 10, and at Palmerston North on Saturday, December 11. The company will present “The Gondoliers" at Masterton on Monday. December 13. and the return farewell season in Wellington will begin on Tuesday, Decenthei 14. The latter season will be inaugurated with a brilliant final revival of “The Gondoliers." and on Wednesday (afternoon and evening). Dece über 15. 'The Yeomen of the Guard” will be produced. Ou Thursday. December 16. the fairy opera "lolanthe" will be performed, and on Friday. December 17. "H.M.S. Pinafore” (preceded by "Trial by Jury"), will be staged. On Saturday (afternoon and evening). December 18. "The Mikado” will be revived. and the season will close on Monday. December 20, with a • magnificent representation of the exhilarating and whimsical comic opera, “The Pirates of Penzance.” Playgoers will i e glad to be presented with a further opportunity to laugh at the whimsicalities of Charles Walenn. They will be glad also to listen to James Hay's exquisite rendering of "Take a Pair of Sparkling Eyes." and to Miss Strella Wilson's glorious soprano voice in the music allocated to the role of Casilda and Elsie Maynard < "The Yeomen of the Guard"). The box plans for the Wellington season will he opened at the Bristol cn Friday. December 10.
