ANNUAL MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. The annual meeting . of :he British Manulacturei's and Agents' zlssociatiou was held on Thursday, when there was a good attendance of members. The adoptiou of the uuuuul report and balance-sheet waj moved by the president. Mr. G. H. Scott, who, in the course of his remarks eulogised the Press of New Zealand for its willingness at ail times to give prominence to matters in the interests of trade with the United Kingdom. Mr. Scott also rcierred to tho sympathetic views held by the Ministers of the Crown aud various flovernluent Departments. Feeling reference was also ma.de to the death of Mr. Waiter Eglin, a prominent member of the association. Special comment was made regarding the letters addressed to the association by Mr. Stanley Baldwin, Prune Minister of England, also Earl Jellicoe, encouraging tue association iu then work of national importance. Tne election of the council resulted as follows: lec.trical, Messrs. C. W. Salmon and 11. J. Tolley; machinery Messrs. B. J. Duushonth. R. J. Aekins. and A. L- Wall; hardware, Messrs. R. Johnson and G. A. Keall; motors and accessories, Messrs. G. H. Scott. L. A. Edwards, and R- F. Bauchop; motor-cycle* and cycles, Mr. C. E. Blayney: paper and printers’ requisites Messrs H. J. Tubbs. W. E. Jackson, and Henry Garrow; drapery, Messrs. L. D. Hurst. W. R. Kirker. and D. Hogg; textiles. Messrs. 0. W. Budd and John Matthews; groceries and provisions, Messrs G. Sara and R H. Ellis; confectionery. Messrs. A. J. Rigg and H. A. Goodwin; fancv goods. Messrs. 11. S. Hart and J. G. Baine; chemicals- paints and oils. Messrs. E. A Christie and J. R. Cole; boots. shoes and leather. Messrs. L. H Weed and G E. Leightnn: films. Mr. L. 0. Fann: photographic goods, Jlr. A, Waterworth- wines, spirits, and tobaccos Mr. W. Harvey.

Messrs. Henry Keniher snd Son were re-elected auditors.
