MARCONI’S MARRIAGE
ANNULMENT DISCUSSED BY THE POPE.
(Rec. November 25, 5.5 p.m.) Rome, November 21
Signor Marconi interviewed the Pope and discussed the annulment of his marriage, for which a preliminary decree was granted bv the Curia of West.minster on the ground of the defective legality of the marriage with the Hon Beatrice O’Brien. It is stated bv Marconi that his wife made it a condition before the marriage that she could sep arate whenever she wished, which Mar coni claims nullifies the marriage in Roman Catholic Canon Law- It is now rumoured that Marconi is engaged to marry a member of the old Roman aristocracy. [Signor Marconi and the Hon. Beatrice O’Brien (daughter of the fourteenth Baron Inchiquin) were married in 1905, but the marriage was dissolved under Italian law in 192-1, and the latter then married the Marquis di Montecorona. ]
