MAXIMUM PENALTY IMPOSED

Haldane James Orr, a middle-aged man, was sentenced to one year’s hard labour in the Magistrate’s Court this morning on a charge of using indecent language towards two young boys, to whom he admitted making an improper suggestion. The Magistrate inflicted the maximum penalty on accused, who had been in similar trouble before, saying that he was a menace to the community.
