PRICES AT AUCKLAND WOOL SALE COMPETITION KEEN Br TELEGBAPH.—PBESS ASSOCIATION. Auckland, November 25. The first wool sale of the season in Auckland opened to-night. There was a large bench of buyers, representing all wool-consuming countries, and competition was keen throughout. The offering this year opened up lighter in condition than in the previous season. As various lots were offered competition was spirited and general. Notwithstanding adverse reports from the London sales, which opened on November 23, prices to-night were decidedly firmer than at the previous sales in the Dominion this season. Pieces and bellies showed a considerable advance on the sale, owing to the quality suiting French buvers. , . , , The complete range of prices is at present unavailable, as the sale will continue till midnight, but the sale is progressing well, with an upward tendency in values. ’I he wool is being well ' distributed, Bradford and Continental buyers being strongly in the market.
