CAMP DOINGS

FIRST BATTALION INSPECTED.

Boisterous weather conditions prevailed for the inspection of the First Bataliou, Wellington. Regiment, at Trentham Camp yesterday afternoon. The inspection was made by ColonelCommandant C. G. Cowles, Sir James Allen, and Colonel G. F. C. Campbell.

The platoon competition cup was won by No. 10 platoon, C Company, in charge of Sergeant A, G. Mitchell, with No. 1 platoon, A Company, in charge of 2nd Lieutenant Thorpe, second. To-dav the battalion will inarch to the foot of the hills, just beyond Upper Hutt, where it is proposed to carry out a technical scheme of evolutions. Camp will break up on Saturday, and the men will return to the city at midday to-morrow.
