RUNAWAY MOTOR-CAR
About 10 minutes to 11 o'clock last night au empty motor-car which had been left standing on the grade of Boulcott Street, about 150 yards from the Willis Street intersection, commenced to run away with a strong wind behind it. The car’s brakes were on, but the machine gathered way and cut across Willis Street just behind one tramcar, and barely missed the front of another. The motor-car brakes then took effect, for the car pulled up within a foot of the front of the Duke of Edinburgh Hotel, its front wheels having mounted the footpath.
