• , + WELLINGTON DISTRICT AWARD FILED. The Wellington Industrial District Oil Stores Employees’ Award has been filed by the Court of Arbitration. The parties to the award are: The British Imperial Oil Co-, N.Z., Ltd.; Combined Buyers. Ltd.: A. S. Paterson and Co., Ltd.; W. 11. Simms and Sons, Ltd.; Tlis Texas Company (Australasia), Ltd.; and the Vacuum Oil Co., Pty., Ltd. The award provides for a 44-hour week. Subject to provisions relating to shift work, the rate of wages is; Permanent hands, £4 7s. Gd. per week; casual hands, 2s. 2d. per hour. Youths may be employed at not less than the following rates: 18 years and under, £2 a week; 19 years and under, £2 10s. a week; 20 years and under. <£3 a week. The proportion of youths is not to be more than one to every four adult workers, or fraction of four. When youths are called upon Io do stacking of case oils or any other article of a weight of 7511>. or over, they are to be paid adult storemen’s rates. All permanent hands after twelve months' continuous service are entitled to an annual holiday of one week on full pay. Recognised holidays are as follow:—New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Sovereign’s Birthday. Labour Day, Christmas Day. Boxing Day. and Union Picnic Day. All work done on Sundays. Anzac Day. Good Friday, or Christmas Day i- to I>e paid for at double rates, and work done on any other specified holidays, or on any other dav observed in lieu of a holiday, is to bo paid for at the rate of time and a half. When shifts are worked eight hours shall consist the shift, and 48 hours the week’s work, for which -payment shall be made tit the rate of £4 19s. fid. a week.
