«. SPEED AND NOISY EXHAUSTS Dominion Special. Christchurch, November 24. Speed by day and noisy exhausts by night have earned the condemnation of the City and Borough Councils of Christchurch and every effort is being made to end what is regarded ns a public nuisance in the city. The inspectors of the Christchurch City Council and tho police have <rone a long way towards curbing flie lawlessness which is apparent among the youth who ride motor-cycles. Air. Justice Stringer, in the Supreme Court last week, snid thM there was an insane hist for speed timonc motor-cyclists. That was most reprehensible. Roth Citv and Borough Councils have started what amounts to a drive against such offenders.
