The death occurred last night at hie residence in Brougham Street, after a short illness, of Air. Charles Robert Stuart. Mr. Stuart, who was born in Wellington, was 58 years of age. He was the eldest son of the late.Davia Thomson Stuart, of Wellington. He was educated at Wellington College and was for some years in business as a merchant in Wanganui. Returning to Wellington, he accepted appointment as secretary to the New’ Zealand Investment, Mortgage, and Deposit Co. at the inception of the company, and on giving up this position some five vears ago he was appointed a director of the company. In 1921 lie joined the firm of Henry Frember. and Son and remained in partnership with them until early this year, when he went into business as an auditor and accountant. He married a laughL’T of the late Mr. J. E. Page, of Well.iigton. The late Mr. Stuart was possessed of a kindly na<tire, which endeared him r o a wide ci Cl* or friends. In bis younger days he took an interest in athletics and was a member of the Athletic Football Club. He leaves a widow and a son (Mr. I>. F. Stuart, solicitor, of Wellington! and a daughter (Mrs. D. G. Braik, of Phila* dclphia).
