Forthcoming Fixtures.

The Wellington Club’s sports meeting at the Basin Reserve on Saturdav promises to be an interesting event. The cvcle road race to Iremiam and back has drawn a list of 48 entries, including Oakley, Hull and of Masterton; Capper and Scobie ot Levin; and the best of Wellingtons riders. That and the ladies relay race are expected to be big draws The Wellington team for the latter event is Misses Porter,. tevel ’ so "’ Mantan and Swinburne, in.that order Other big features during the day wilt be the schools’ Blundell Cup cliamnionship (primary schools 100yds., 220vds., P and 440yds relay; secondary schools’ 100yds., 440yds. and 880yds relav), and the 100yds. open sprint, for which event Jenkins, Fleming, Murphv, Kvle, O’Paltndge, and R. Gully will compete. The veterans walk will not be the least interesting event on the card, a few of the names forward being T. W. Leslie, P. Jrerald, M. Tracev, C. Davies and H. Aloe, while the Gisborne lady champion, Miss M. Eastwood, is coming
down specially to compete m the ladies’ scratch 100yds.
School Champions Meet.
Special interest will be attached to the secondary schools’ 440 yards race at the Basin Reserve on Saturday, when Ramson, the Wellington College champion, will meet R. Leech, of S . Patrick’s College, who has earned ell before him this year. These champions did not meet on Labour Day, rnd the clash on Saturday will be awaited with keen interest by schoolboys and adults alike.
Evening Meetings, At the first evening meeting held this season the entries and the crowd were about the largest ever seen at such a fixture locally, and on Monday night at Hutt the same enthusiasm ruled. The next meeting is at Kelbum Park on Mondav, December L The Wellington committee anticipates making a start with an electrically-lit fixture about the first week in December. Reappearance of Rose.
Randolph Rose’s first public appearance since his return from Europe. is an event that should cause some interest in athletic circles. The champion is billed to compete at an electric Hght sports carnival at Hawera to-day.
