STUDENT OUTBREAK
IN LONELY CHINESE DISTRICT POSITION OF FOREIGNERS PRECARIOUS Peking, November 21. The local mission authorities have been informed of a student outbreak at Nonchowting, in the Hunan province, where Mr. F. G. Draffin, an Australian missionary, is located. They looted the chapel, which was badly damaged but Mr. Draffin and his wife escaped personal injury. The district is one of the loneliest in the whole of China, The looting is one of many inspired by the approach of General Kuo Min Chung’s army. The position of all foreigners in the vicinity is precarious.
