CHRISTCHURCH UNEMPLOYMENT

AS ACUTE AS EVER Dominion Special. Christchurch, November 22. It is the opinion of the unemployed that the position at present in regard to work is as bad as it was in the winter, and at a meeting held at the Trades Hall this morning the position was thrashed out. Finally it was resolved that a deputation wait upon the City Council this evening to demand that' moneys in hand raised ostensibly for the unemployed be put into use providing work, and that as the position is so acute, a further loan be raised to meet the situation. Further. it was decided to ask that the citizens’ committee be requested to reorganise and again take up the work of alleviating the distress.
