OVER PRIVATE BUS PURCHASE

At present there appears to be a stalemate in connection with the taking over of the plant of the Wellington Suburban. Bus Company by the City Council. Recent legislation provides that a local authority has to take over such undertakings in cases where the proprietors desire to dispose of them. That provision was taken advantage of by the company mentioned, and as soon as possible valuations were made for the Citv Council by inside and outside experts. These valuations were submitted a month ago to the company, so Lar without any response.
