INFECTIOUS DISEASES
DISTRICT NOTIFICATIONS
Infectious diseases reported to the district health authorities for the week ended at noon yesterday showed a decrease of one, when compared with the notifications for the previous seven days. There were 17 cases in this week’s bulletin, of which the Waira-rapa-East Cape area reported 20. Locally, there were 12 cases, nine of which were scarlet fever. Details of cases reported in the various hospital districts are as follows, the figures for last week being given in parenthesis :— Taranaki-Horowhenua: Scarlet fever, 2 (1) ; diphtheria, 8 (3) ; tuberculosis, 1 (2) ; pneumonia, 2 (2); enteric fever, 0 (-2); erysipelas, 0 (1); total, 13 (11) Wairarapa-East Cape: Scarlet fever, 1 (4) ; diphtheria, 6 (6) ; enteric fever, 6 (5) ; tuberculosis, 2 (2); pneumonia, 1 (11 ; ervsipelas, 1 (0); total, 20 (18). Central Wellington: Scarlet fever, I) (6); diphtheria, 1 (3); enteric fever,.! (fl); pneumonic influenza, 1 (01; tuberculosis, 0 (1); ervsipelas, 0 (2); pneumonia. 0 (I); lethargic encephalitis, 0 (3) • cerebro-spinal meningitis, 0 (1) ; total, 12 (17). , .
